Wingate—Joe Edward Irwin, 53, 2223 Tamarich Drive, Okemos, Mich., formerly of the Wingate area, died unexpectedly at 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 1989, in Lansing General Hospital, Lansing, Mich.
He was born June 9, 1935, in Tompkinsville, Ky. He was married to Margaret Smith Dollar, who survives.
He was a 1955 graduate of Coal Creek High School and attended college in Illinois, Michigan and Pennsylvania. He was a teacher at Michigan State University and owned a consulting firm.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Dudley Ross, Columbus, Ohio; two stepsons, Jeff Dollar, Coral Springs, Fla. and John Dollar, Lake Tahoe, Nev.; his mother, Orpha Irvin, Linden; three sisters, Mrs. Albert (Clarine) Bair, Lafayette; Mrs. Kenneth (Joyce) Glass, Port Orange, Fla. and Barbara Alexander, Naples, Fla., and three brothers, William T., Linden; Kenneth R., Elmdale, and Jessie E., Crawfordsville.
